About John
John Monk has been tattooing most of his life. He got his “start” in the business in Dallas, Texas. In 1992 he moved back to Kansas City to start his own shop. John has worked with numerous amazing artists over the years.
He credits their influence with helping to shape and expand his abilities and work John finds inspiration for his craft in everyday life, especially from the many talented artists, clients, family and friends he works with each day. He’s worked on almost every conceivable tattoo design but he considers Traditional American and Japanese his main area of expertise.
When John isn’t at the shop he enjoys spending time with his family, taking a ride on one of his bikes, fishing or painting. John takes pride in running one of the top tattoo shops in the country. Having the most talented staff and guest artists as well as the most professional and well run studios around will always be John’s trademark. He strives to ensure that every experience in his shop is a great one and that each client leaves with a piece they will love for years to come.
